MBT044 At the ICPS Cologne

Hello lovely people, we are back from our summer break, in which we attended the International Conference of Physics Students (ICPS) in Cologone in August.
In this podcast you will hear from six of the invited guest speakers at the conference (among them Nobel laureate Klaus von Klitzing), whom we each asked the same three questions:

  1. What is it that still fascinates you about your field research?
  2. Could you name one or two important steps in your career?
  3. What advice would you give to young physicists in training?
Download the episode now to hear their answers!

The six speakers we interviewed were:
Prof. Dr. Klaus von Klitzing – Director of the Max-Planck-Institute for Solid State Research
Prof. Dr. Thomas Klinger – Director of the Max-Planck-Institute of Plasma Physics
Prof. Dr. Claus Kiefer – University of Cologne
Prof. Dr. Marc Timme – Max-Planck-Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organization
Prof. Dr. Gisela Anton – Erlangen Centre for Astroparticle Physics
Prof. Dr. Petra Rudolf – President-elect of the European Physical Society

In the second part of this episode, you will hear interviews with René Hamburger and Matthias Dahlmanns, the two main organisers of the ICPS. They explained to us what motivated them to get involved in the conference and what they experienced in doing so.
Enjoy!
